🌟 Episode 193 – Mini-Series Part 5

🚗 A Vegan Road Trip Through the UK Countryside

Brighde and Seb began their journey in Bristol after flying in from France. With a trusty rental car, they explored the winding roads, quaint villages, and sunny coastlines of Southern England and Wales. June in the UK was full of blooming roses, fresh air, and long cheerful days.

🖼️ Bristol Beginnings: Murals, Vegan Burgers & Colonial Reflections

Bristol is a creative city with a serious past. Once built on trade from the slave era, the city now honors its history and celebrates new voices through street art — including works by Banksy! Brighde stayed at the Marriott and enjoyed amazing vegan comfort food at Oowee Vegan, featuring spicy burgers and a thick Biscoff milkshake.

🏰 Cardiff Calling: Family, Castles & Tim Minchin Magic

Next stop: Cardiff! A walkable Welsh city filled with charm, Brighde met up with family for vegan pizza at ASK Italian and attended a powerful live show by Tim Minchin. They also explored the magical Cardiff Castle, with its golden ceilings and storybook rooms.

🍽️ The Queen Inn: Why This Vegan Pub Stole the Show

Just outside Newport, Brighde found one of the best meals of the trip—a juicy vegan steak and creamy peppercorn sauce at The Queen Inn. This fully vegan pub was cozy and delicious.

“Fish” & Chips Worth Crossing Borders For

The Queen Inn’s comfort food is a must-try, with hearty classics made 100% vegan.

How Wales’ Vegan Scene is Rising

From helpful servers to dedicated vegan spots, Wales is blooming with plant-based choices.

🌀 Avebury’s Ancient Stones: Older & Quieter Than Stonehenge

In Avebury, Brighde visited ancient stone circles you can walk right up to. They’re bigger and older than Stonehenge—and feel like a piece of quiet magic.

🏡 Dorset Dreams: Hell Lane Walks & Garden Spritzes

In Netherbury, they stayed with family and enjoyed summer walks and local food. One special moment was walking Hell Lane, an old sunken path with mossy walls and leafy shadows. Later, they visited Parnham House gardens for elderflower cocktails and laughter.

🐱 Bournemouth: Beach Vibes & Cat Cuddles

Brighde took a sunny trip to Bournemouth for a beach walk and lunch at Pho, a Vietnamese spot with fresh vegan noodles. But the highlight? Pause Cat Café — a peaceful place full of rescue cats ready for snuggles.

🧀 Coastal Finale: Lymington, Bosham & Picnic-Perfect Vegan Cheese

On their final day, they visited Bosham, a historic village where King Canute’s daughter is said to be buried. Dinner included vegan tiramisu and cheeses from La Fauxmagerie — Brighde’s favorite vegan cheese ever!
