Thailand

Why we love Thailand

Thailand is a real favourite for the WVT team. They have lived here for over nine years and have accrued a deep knowledge.  Brighde was based in Bangkok  as a tour leader for an adventure travel company and spent 18 months taking her clients from hill tribes in the mountainous north to beach bungalows in the south.

These days we prefer to be more comfortable and Thailand has an abundance of luxury travel experiences and accommodation options. Our trips take full advantage of this by featuring amazing hotels and resorts in the best locations, completely vetted and organized so you can relax, enjoy your surroundings, and enjoy Thailand’s famously delicious food.

Tofu and the most wonderful tropical fruits and vegetables are available here, and many classic Thai dishes are either already vegan or very easily veganizable.

Add visits to inspiring animal sanctuaries, shelters, and rescue services and taking care of elephants, gibbons, even dogs and cats, and you’ve got the perfect holiday destination. They say Thailand is paradise, and we’ll show you why.

Did you know...

  • The Thai Chinese community has a nine-day vegetarian (vegan) festival each year in October.
  • Bangkok usually tops the charts as the most visited city in the world.  Yes, even more than Paris!
  • The concept of veganism is well understood here. The practice of ‘gin jeh’ means to eat vegan as well as staying away from pungent foods like garlic and onion. Thai Buddhists believe that not eating meat or pungent herbs purifies the body and improves their karma.
