Italy

Why we love Italy

Italy is one of the world’s favourite travel destination and it is easy to see why.  Simply mentioning the piazzas of Rome, Milan’s Duomo, the canals of Venice and the architectural wonders of Florence is enough to send everyone dreaming of their next Italian escapade.

Then there’s the veritable abundance of world class museums, the remarkably intact roman town of Pompeii, the hill-towns of Umbria, the quaint seaside towns of the Cinqueterre, the cliff-hugging villages along the Amalfi Coast, the list goes on and on and on!

Not to be outdone, Italy’s nature is out of this world.  From the rolling hills of Tuscany to the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean, and from the high snow-capped peaks of the Dolomites to the smoking volcanos of Sicily, Italy truly has it all.

Throughout, the Italians themselves provide ample texture and color to this perfect synergy of gorgeous scenery, architecture, history and culture.   Is there any other language in the world where you can understand most of what a local is saying without actually speaking a word of it?!?

Finally, there’s the food, which needs no introduction.   Pasta, pizzas, bruschetta,  tiramisu, it’s all incredibly varied, fresh and always amazingly delicious, and there’s no question Italian cuisine is one of the most popular in the world.  And of course, it always taste that much better with some good local wine, from Chianti to Sangiovese to Montepulciano, to wash it down!

So come explore this amazing country with us and get ready to wake up to strong aromatic coffee, wander the cobblestone alleyways, feast on a long lazy lunch, sit in a piazza, pop into a museum or two, sip the local wine, and soak in this incredible country, one pizza at a time!
