Vegan kitchen appliances including a coffee maker, rice cooker, kettle, and waffle maker – World Vegan Travel guide to essential appliances.

The Ultimate Guide to Vegan Kitchen Essential Appliances

Cooking vegan food is not that different from cooking non-vegan food, but a few smart appliances can make life in the kitchen much easier and more fun. At World Vegan Travel, we’ve tested lots of gadgets over the years, and we’ve put together our favorite vegan kitchen appliances to help you know which ones are worth it.

This guide is part of our 3-part series on creating the ultimate vegan kitchen. Don’t forget to check out our other posts on the best utensils and tools and the best time-saving gadgets.

Electric Hand Mixer

A hand mixer isn’t at the top of the list, but it’s helpful if you love baking. Whip aquafaba, cream vegan butter and sugar, or mix light doughs. It’s a nice-to-have, not a must-have.

Non-Dairy Milk Maker

Making soy or almond milk at home is simple with a non-dairy milk maker. It saves waste and tastes fresh, though if you drink a lot, you’ll be making it often.

Stand Mixer

Before buying one, think about space and how often you’ll use it. If it’s hidden in the cupboard, you’ll forget it. But if you love baking bread or rolls, a stand mixer can be a worthy investment.

Air Fryer

We love our air fryer! It heats quickly, crisps with little oil, and makes fries, veggies, and snacks healthier. Newer ones even connect to Wi-Fi for fun extras. It’s definitely a favorite in our vegan kitchen.

Kettle

A kettle is more useful than just making tea. It’s a time-saver for boiling water for pasta or soups too. We love our glass kettle and use it daily.

Juicer

Juicers can be messy and take up space, but if you’re serious about fresh juices, they’re worth it. Just be ready for more washing up and the cost of produce.

Instant Pot

This one is a must-have! The Instant Pot can sauté, steam, and pressure cook. It even makes homemade yogurt. We use ours almost every day, and it has lots of accessories, including a lid that turns it into an air fryer.

Blender

A blender is absolutely essential in a vegan kitchen. Smoothies, soups, sauces, cashew cream—everything is easier with a powerful blender. We recommend Vitamix for the smoothest results, and they last for years.

Immersion Blender

Not essential if you have a big blender, but great for quick soups or sauces. It saves time and dishes. Handy in winter when you want creamy soup without moving hot pots around.

Digital Scale

Perfect for precise recipes, especially if you follow European cookbooks with weight measurements. A good scale makes meal prep accurate and stress-free.

Food Processor

From nut butters to hummus to veggie chopping, a food processor makes prep much easier. It’s not essential for every kitchen, but we think it’s one of the most versatile appliances you can own.
