Imagine waking up every morning on a beautiful vegan superyacht, sailing from island to island across the bright blue Adriatic Sea. That’s exactly what happened on our very first Croatia trip by superyacht — a new kind of adventure for World Vegan Travel, full of surprises, sunshine, storms, and so many moments we’ll never forget.
This wasn’t just a normal trip. It was something brand new. Something we planned with love, hope, and a little bit of nervous excitement.
“But thanks to our wonderful travelers and the amazing Croatian crew, it became one of the most magical journeys we’ve ever taken.” – Brighde Reed
Come along — let me tell you the story.

🌅 Day 1: A Surprise in Dubrovnik
The trip began in the postcard-perfect city of Dubrovnik. Most of our travellers were already familiar faces — people who had joined us in places like Japan, Italy, and Rwanda. Meeting again felt like a family reunion.
We gathered at Urban Veggies café to enjoy a colourful vegan spread. Everyone was chatting, laughing, and guessing what the week might bring.
After a walking tour with Vesna, our guide, we pulled off our first surprise: instead of taking the bus back to the marina, our yacht — the Ohana — sailed right into the Old Port to pick us up!
The group cheered as it glided in like a scene from a movie.
We boarded, raised our glasses, and sailed toward the quiet island of Šipan under a glowing sunset. It was the perfect beginning.

🌧️ Day 2: Storms, Snuggles & the Captain’s Dinner
Morning on Šipan was calm and peaceful. But as we sailed toward Mljet Island, the sky darkened and rain swept in. Instead of sunbathing on deck, we curled up inside with tea and laughter, watching the storm roll across the sea.
When the skies finally cleared, we explored ancient Roman ruins, met the sweetest village dog named Bella, and watched a movie in the yacht’s little cinema.
That night, we enjoyed Colleen’s Captain’s Dinner — a beautiful, candlelit meal with heartfelt toasts and dancing on the deck after the rain. Stormy days can still make perfect memories.

🏰 Day 3: Monasteries, Deer & Dinner in Korčula
We sailed to Korčula, a little stone town that looks like it belongs in a storybook. After a fun walking tour with our guide Lea, the group split into two adventures:
- Seb took a group to a cosy local winery
- I led travellers to the tiny island of Badija
On Badija, we explored a huge old monastery, greeted friendly deer, hiked up to a viewpoint, and swam in clear, salty water that felt like silk.
That evening, we dressed up and enjoyed a wonderful vegan dinner at Cupido. The day felt warm, bright, and full of joy.

🌺 Day 4: Singing, Sunshine & Lavender Fields in Hvar
We sailed into glamorous Hvar, wandered its marble streets, and then drove across the island to Stari Grad, where something truly magical happened: a private klapa concert.
Klapa is traditional Croatian a cappella singing, and hearing those voices echo through a stone courtyard felt almost spiritual. Some of us even had tears in our eyes.
We tasted olive oil, enjoyed a sunset wine tasting onboard, and had a delicious dinner at Vintage Hvar.
It was a day filled with colour, music, and gentle sunshine.

🌬️ Day 5: The Bura Wind & A Cozy Night In
The next morning, the famous bura wind arrived — strong, wild, and colder than you’d expect. It wasn’t safe to continue our planned route, so we returned to Stari Grad to wait it out.
And you know what? Nobody complained. Everyone smiled and simply asked, “What’s the new plan?”
That evening, we held another cozy Captain’s Dinner indoors. The flickering candles, the warm food, the laughter — it all felt extra special against the soundtrack of the wind outside.

🐐 Day 6: A Sanctuary for Animals on Brač
After a windy hike in the morning, we sailed to the island of Brač and visited a small animal sanctuary. Goats, pigs, donkeys, rescued dogs — all gently cared for by passionate locals. Our travellers were enchanted.
That night, the crew turned the indoor dining room into a warm space for a vegan BBQ. Even though it was too windy to eat outdoors, the evening was filled with stories, giggles, and gratitude.

🏛️ Day 7: Ancient Split & A Joyful Farewell
We hiked above Milna in the morning, then sailed to Split — a city built inside a Roman palace! With our guide Nives, we wandered through ancient stone rooms, busy markets, and sunlit courtyards.
Our farewell dinner at GreenBox Split was filled with delicious vegan dishes, music, and hugs. It felt like celebrating with old friends.

🌞 Day 8: Calm Seas & Heartfelt Goodbyes
On the final morning, the wind was gone. The sea was smooth again, almost as if it was saying “goodbye.”
We gathered with the crew to thank them, and the captain said something that warmed every heart in the room:
Our group was the best they’d ever had.
Kind, curious, patient, grateful — that’s what vegan travellers are.
And that’s what made this trip unforgettable.
✨ Reflections: What This Trip Taught Us

- Trying something new is brave — and worth it
- Flexibility can turn challenges into the best stories
- Kindness makes every adventure better
- And vegan travel brings people together in the most beautiful way
We learned so much, and we’re already dreaming of bringing this trip back in 2027 — even bigger, better, and still full of heart.
