Reflection on the year
Whether it has been through the loss of income, heightened stress levels, or having to change our behavior, every single one of us has been impacted in some way by COVID-19.
Indeed, some of us might have had to go through the great challenge of having ourselves or a loved one contract this terrible illness, with perhaps severe symptoms or even worse.
2020 has been a very difficult year and travel has been way down the list of priorities. Even for us, the most committed travelers, we’ve felt the need to stay close to home, practice self-care, and find ways we can work through this difficult situation and look to the future.
While we have been continuing to work on World Vegan Travel in the background, we’ve been a little bit quiet on communication and social media, preferring to wait until we felt actually confident that there was light at the end of the tunnel.
Looking towards 2021 Travel
Finally, there’s starting to be some hope: the very positive news about upcoming vaccines, airlines have radically changed how they operate, travel insurance is now available that covers COVID-19 and the craziness with flights that I experienced in April is now a thing of the past.
Like every travel company, COVID-19 took us by surprise and we have spent countless hours reading, researching, and strategizing. Among the things we have been thinking about when it comes to future trips are:
- protecting our travelers’ health when we can finally travel;
- making sure that everything is clear and transparent for all our travelers so they can feel confident booking with us, especially in regards to cancellation;
- what we will do in the unlikely event that one of our travelers tests positive for COVID-19 while on one of our trip;
We invite you to take a look at this article that Seb put together which talks about how we think travel will look like in 2021, and which we’ll keep on updating as more information comes through over the upcoming weeks and months. Things are sure changing quickly!
We’ll also be updating you soon with all our new 2021 trips. Some of them are actually postponed trips from 2020 (which do still have spots available) and, of course, we’ve got a couple of new exciting destinations as well!
